![]() ![]() Two, i haven't yet seen any resolume midi controller templates. This sub-reddit is dedicated to the art of VJing.Īnything related goes! Share links to live sets, tutorials, techniques, software, hardware, reviews, artists, events, music videos with noteworthy visuals, samples and loops, ask questions, etc. there are dozens of free vsts and other methods by which we can control velocity, so please don't worry about that. One, those of us whom are routing midi to and from LED grids can find the device specification and make sure that the right color velocity gets sent. If you could describe specifically what functionality you'd like to see, we can take that into account. Resolume supports external control via your computer keyboard, MIDI controllers and OSC messages. Except this time, you get to decide what the shortcuts are. Sort of like how CTRL-C and CTRL-V are shortcuts for copy-pasting. I am using the AKAI APC40 to control avenuearena and using the suggested Alternate Abelton Live Mode. You use shortcuts to assign a button on your computer keyboard or MIDI controller to a control in Resolume. ![]() ![]() We're in the process of seeing what controllers are popular among our users, and making specific templates for them. Is taking Resolume on a second date Posts: 27 Joined: Thu 10:40. Step beyond the mouse and take control via Midi, OSC and SMPTE. The APC40 comes pre-mapped for instant use with Ableton Live software, so if youre new to it, youll find using the APC40 to be easy to get around on. ![]() In Resolume you connect the virtual MIDI port as your input device and then map everything. You take ALL of this into Bomes and then merge it together on channel 16 and then send it out a virtual MIDI port. This is primarily because every controller has a different protocol for led colors, and we can't make separate implementations for every controller out there. It also covers basic Resolume terminology and workflow that is used throughout the other chapters. First-time setup is literally three steps: load Ableton Live, plug in and power up your APC40, and select the APC40 as Ableton Lives controller. Arena 5/Arena 6, Windows 10 Controllers: MIDIMix, Launch Control, Launch Control XL, FaderFox DJ4, Actition 8-button USB, Nektar NX-P. Sending out loaded clips in a decks is not supported. So, I changed my approach to mapping Resolume. Its not a huge big deal to set them up again but Im confused about how it could have happened and Id. If you're seeing messages come in here, but Resolume is not doing anything with them, something is wrong with your shortcut setup. Resolume will show you all the MIDI messages it's receiving from and sending to all enabled controllers. Not just in my current composition but with all my past compositions too. Fold out the MIDI monitor on the right of the MIDI Preferences. So when you have controls mapped to the active clip or layer, these will be sent out when you change the focus. When I was setting up for my last gig suddenly all my layer level midi mappings (with my midi controller) disappeared. Resolume's midi out behaviour is basically 'what comes in, goes out'. Making a basic APC setup for clip triggers, layer opacity control and a few effects shouldn't take you more than a few minutes, half hour tops. For a basic mapping, there really is no need for Bomes. There a few issues that prevent us from implementing this as a feature though, one of which is that every controller requires different midi velocities to change colors. There's nothing you can do with the APC40 control wise that is not supported in Resolume out of the box. Joris wrote:We're aware of the demand for this. ![]()
